Bad news again but what can you do... Due to our guitarist's wrist injury our band is taking a short break, so that our pal can get his shit together. We're heading back to our rehearsal place in August to get in shape and we hope to be back on stage for regular shows by the end of the month. But hey, there's also some good news! The recording sessions for our debut album are slowly progressing. Very slowly for that matter, so don't rejoice just yet... And since summer is just around the corner, we'd like to wish y'all some happy, alcohol-fueled times!

Wazzup! NIGHT OF THE LIVING ROCK IV is history and all we can say is a huge 'THANK YOU' for all of you who paid us a visit on that cold Sunday evening and made sure that despite a rather tight competition from May Music Festival we wouldn't play to an empty bar. You're simply awesome, seriously! We'd also like to thank the bands God's Favorite Drug and Rust - both of them swept us away and I think we can honestly say that this was one of the strongest line-ups we ever had on any edition of NOTLR.

And in other news, we finally made a decision to look for someone who'd help us running this mess we like to call JDO (especially in the gig department, cuz we still don't have enough of them). So without further ado, we welcome aboard our first ever manager - Zuza. We're already placing bets on how long she'll put up with us but nevertheless, we think it's gonna work out ok. :) So give her a warm welcome as well ;)

Finally! After a year-long break, "NIGHT OF THE LIVING ROCK" returns!

The fourth edition of our jolly event gets the nickname "Southern", thanks to the bands that will be performing with us that night:

GOD'S FAVORITE DRUG - a prime dose of alternative rock from Tychy, mixing together old-school grunge with some genuine "Desert Sessions" melodies.

RUST - a.k.a. the metal killing machine, greased up nicely with stoner and thrash metal. Straight from the Silesian bowels.

The venue stays the same - club 2B3, Katowice; the date is May 9th. We're starting at 7 PM and the admission fee is only 5 PLN. Don't be shy and come along for the party to taste some first class rock'n'roll!

In other news - our album is slowly coming together, we already recorded the drums and as I write this, Stempel is tearing off the skin from his fingers recording the guitar bits. We're getting there:) And in the meantime we'd like to invite you to our upcoming shows - today we'll be thrashing Warsaw and on Thursday we'll be opening for Lostbone, Carnal and Corruption in Katowice.

Gigs, gigs, gigs, motherfuckers! After the unfortunate name change we promised ourselves to make it up with more intensive touring and the first signs of improvement have just surfaced! On February 28th we'll be playing in Katowice at Kultowa club with Death Denied and Death Lot Lizard, with whom we'll be joining forces again on April 4th, during the River of Booze Fest vol. 2 in Lodz (along with another great band - The Vagitarians). And on March 11th in Cogitatur, we'll be opening the Katowice chapter of the Bourbon River Re-Creation Tour, featuring Lostbone, Carnal and the godfathers of Polish stoner - Corruption. This will be a true musical feast, so be there or be square, nimrod! Plus, on March 6th we'll be invading the capitol for a gig with Law of Omerta at Index club. Warsaw - you have been warned.

Well, to be honest, it's not like we weren't expecting this. We recently received a letter from Jack Daniel's Properties, Inc. (owners of the Jack Daniel's brand) asking us to stop using our current name, as it involves a (rather obvious :P ) risk of violating the name rights of the aforementioned company. To avoid any unnecessary legal actions, but also in respect to the brand our name was based upon, we decided to change our moniker to J. D. OVERDRIVE. We figured that changing the name to something completely different would be pointless and this way we came up with a nice lil' acronym that pretty much says it all and in the same time remains legally harmless ;) This new name will surely bring along some other changes (the improved logo being one of them) but our most important outlets - our website and our MySpace profile - will retain the same addresses. Phew, that's about it I guess... Wish us luck under the new flag and remain blessed in stoner rock, brothers & sisters ;) - Your friends from J. D. Overdrive

Mornin'! Hope y'all woke up to an awesome New Year! To cut it short: on January 24th we're playing a gig with the bands Deadline and Masticate in Fraktal club in Mikolow, so feel free to drop by ;)
